Nothing has worked for me before—why will THIS change my procrastination?
(my very non-magical four-steps)
The short version
I’d be a bad procrastination coach if I made you do things the hard way so here’s the 1-minute version.
Why will THIS change your procrastination? (this being the easy way to ending procrastination, my very non-magical four steps).
BECAUSE… unlike the productivity books and self-discipline gurus I’m NOT going to pretend to have the one magical trick that will fix your procrastination.
If you take a chance, I’ll help you how to find the secret to YOUR procrastination. And I’ll teach you to use that secret to BREAK the boredom, and time-wasting, and distraction.
You’ll learn the skill, so you don’t need me anymore. It’s a skill with four simple steps, and when you master them you’ll be able to complete the tasks in your life however you like.
Combining this with figuring out your “procrastination type”—the secret underlying YOUR procrastination—procrastination will never be able to touch you again.
Jump to the end if you want to skip to next steps.
The extended cut
For maybe your whole life people have been telling you that you’re supposed to discipline yourself, or manage your time, or focus, when they have no idea just how difficult procrastination can be. They’re blaming the SYMPTOMS without thinking about the root cause.
But there’s some kind of emotional pain in you, that’s built up over years and years, and it makes you feel so heavy that very often tasks just push you to distract yourself from the pain. That’s procrastination.
Numbing yourself with scrolling, watching, napping—and whatever else helps you escape.
But when you UNDERSTAND that core pain, and you LEARN HOW TO NAVIGATE IT—of course everything will change.
If the pain is what has been causing you to procrastinate, and you learn how to relieve that pain in a better way, there’s nothing left to cause you to procrastinate.
Let me be clear! YOU are not broken!
And if I give you a clear, simple, four-step process, you’ll be able to kill the pain altogether with your own creativity and problem-solving.
By becoming the expert about yourself.
I mean, if you can see a painful way of doing things and a painless way of doing things, which will you choose?
Kill the pain
Right now you only see two painful pathways—the tasks you don’t want to do, and the procrastination. Both hurt you and make you unhappy.
But this process doesn’t ask you to make a magical mindset shift to suddenly feel happy about tasks you hate. It just asks you to practice a couple of simple skills in the form of four steps.
But THAT’S why this will work.
Because rather than giving up as soon as the ‘solution’ (pomodoro, habit-tracking, whatever it is) doesn’t all of a sudden solve procrastination—
—we work together to use everything we learn about YOU and YOUR pain to find YOUR PATH to overcoming procrastination.
